Business partners Dale James and Simon Townley met as two ambitious colleagues working in a top end salon. Benefitting from the comprehensive training associated with its solid reputation, and having honed their craft, the two have become an inspiring duo for young entrepreneurs in the community.

Theirs is a modern hair salon combining cutting edge technology with innovative style. Wi-Fi internet and Xbox 360 help to make the salon genuinely different from local competition, offering a refreshingly different approach to grooming. Continually motivated by their creative approach to styling, the pair harboured the desire for freedom to create looks using the highest quality products. The opportunity to demonstrate consistently up to date trends, styles, and products for their clients proved to be the lure into setting up their own business.

One to one sessions with Business Adviser Carole Garrett opened the boys' eyes to the support available from Burnley Enterprise and they readily attended the 'No Limits - Get Set' business workshops on bookkeeping and finance. Dale remembers, "Accessing the 'Get Set business start up grant' had a positive impact on our start-up costs from the word go."

The business has given them more control that they could have gained working in someone else's salon and they relish the ultimate responsibility for business decisions. Not content with the hairdressing side though, they hope to apply their high quality standards to nail and beauty products, giving their clients an all inclusive choice of available treatments.
